Shell courses

We are the right address for your steel needs!

If longitudinally welded shell courses are essential components for your pressure vessels, boilers, machines or steel structures - we are the right steel supplier for you! We use high-power four-roll bending machines for forming of shell plate, with the most powerful exerting a forming force of 8,600 t and capable of handling cylindrical lengths of up to 4,250 mm. This machine is equipped with three interchangeable rolls of diameters 880 mm, 1,200 mm and 1,500 mm. It was designed specifically for cold forming of heavy plates consisting of high-strength grades of steel with yield strengths of more than 500 MPa – as an alternative to forged shell courses.
Hot forming is also possible, depending on dimensions and the particular material – with subsequent heat treatment and water quenching if required..

The submerged arc process, with up to three electrodes, is used for welding.

We possess approvals in accordance with both national and international codes and standards; we are a "stamp holder" in conformity to ASME I, VIII-1 and VIII-2.

If required, we can also supply shell courses spot or tack welded.

On request, we can also supply shell courses as a package, complete with other Dillinger products - such as formed parts and cut-to-size plates, and all from a single source!
